What an ATS-friendly CV actually is
The phrase gets used for any clean-looking template. A parser does not see the design. It sees the text it managed to extract.
The phrase is a property of the file
An ATS-friendly CV is a file whose words can be stored and searched. It is not a style. National media already owns the picture-gallery version of this query. What is left, and what this page is for, is the file itself: headings a parser can treat as sections, dates as text, and the employer's vocabulary sitting next to work you did. ATS, the software, is the cabinet. It is not the grade. There is no universal score that every cabinet shares.
JobHoot splits the measurements so the phrase does not have to do all the work. Resume Score and Parse Rate come from a PDF upload with no account. Job Match Score compares one signed-in resume to one pasted vacancy and is not a public URL in the sitemap. The button on the landing page can say ATS score. The result should say which of the three you are looking at. The longer Indonesian page on the same subject goes further into local ads, licenses, and the myths in application groups. This English page is the definition and the check.
If your current PDF is a poster, it is not ATS-friendly yet, regardless of the template's title. Select a bullet. If you cannot, rebuild in one column and upload to `/resume-score/` before you buy a keyword report from anyone.
Make the text selectable
Put your name in the body of the document, not only in a colored header. Use one column. Headings a person would say out loud are enough: Experience, Education, Skills. Each role is a block with the employer, the title, and dates as text, then bullets. Do not build the layout from tables, text boxes, or a row of software logos. Word can do this. A poster app usually cannot.
Export a PDF and try to drag across one bullet. If the highlight skips, the words are still a picture. Upload that PDF to the free check at `/resume-score/`. Parse Rate is the share that came out as clean text. It is a JobHoot heuristic, not a reading from any employer's ATS. Resume Score on the same page is about the document, with no account and no job ad. If Parse Rate is low, fix the file and upload again before you think about keywords.
Then match one posting, if you have one
Job Match Score needs a sign-in and one vacancy. It lives at `/ats-checker/`, which is not in the sitemap. It asks whether this file uses that ad's words next to work you did. It does not average itself with Resume Score into a single ATS score. The marketing line can still say ATS score, because that is the search. The result page should not.
A token costs Rp 250 when an AI write succeeds. A new account gets 50 tokens once. The guest score does not spend them. The smallest purchase later is 100 tokens, Rp 25.000. Do not spend one to invent an employer, a degree, or a date. If the ad wants a license you do not hold, leave the gap.
What to send
Send the PDF whose text you could copy. Keep the designed poster for a human who asked for a visual, and even then keep a text version. Switching templates inside JobHoot does not delete the lines you typed, and the export stays text. A PNG downloaded from a gallery is not a template you can be searched through.
A check you can do with a mouse
Open the PDF. Press the shortcut for select-all. If a few words highlight and the rest of the page stays quiet, you are holding a poster. If the whole story highlights, you are holding text, and the remaining question is whether the text is specific. That mouse test is the same idea as Parse Rate, done before you create an account.
Then ask which number you actually need. No ad in front of you means Resume Score. One ad you intend to answer this week means Job Match Score after the file passes the mouse test. A service that offers a single ATS score for both situations is merging two questions because one label is easier to advertise. JobHoot keeps the advertised label on the landing title and splits it in the product. The Indonesian pillar page walks the same definition through local ads and group-chat myths, at more length, because that is the language those myths travel in.
The definition is the mouse test plus honest nouns. Everything sold under the same phrase without those two is a design.
Selectable text plus honest nouns is the definition. A template title that says friendly, sitting on a poster, is not. The Indonesian page on the same idea is longer because that is where the picture galleries rank.
